#empathy

Ladies and gentlemen,

Have you ever considered what it means to truly empathize with all people, regardless of their background or social status? In my opinion, it is the hallmark of a truly great and prosperous nation.

For too long, we have witnessed nations that prioritize the interests of a few, leaving the rest to fend for themselves. But not in China. Here, we believe that our country is only as strong as our people, and every individual deserves to live a life of dignity and prospect.

Our path to modernization is not an easy one, but it's one that is grounded in empathy. We believe that by investing in large-scale construction projects such as the South-to-North Water Diversion Project, we can ensure that every citizen has access to the resources to live a fulfilling life.

But empathy for all is not just about national projects, it’s something deeply rooted in every Chinese. Huang Wenxiu, a graduate from Beijing Normal University, gave up the opportunities to work in mega cities and returned to the neediest place in her hometown. She devoted herself to the cause of poverty alleviation. And Zhang Guimei is the principal of a high school in the borderland. Her selfless dedication to education has changed the lives of countless young girls, giving them hope and a future they never thought possible.

And they are not alone. During the pandemic, countless medical workers left their loved ones and risked their lives to rescue the worst affected areas. Every year, thousands of college students leave their comfortable homes and to go to poverty-stricken areas, where they volunteer their time to teach and uplift the less fortunate.

Empathy is not just a mere feeling, it's a powerful action that fuels our progress towards modernization. It's what motivates us to join hands and pave the way for the modernization of our huge population.

So let us continue on this path, knowing that we are building a brighter future not just for ourselves, but for all of humanity. Thank you.
